The Center for Payments™, a joint program sponsored by ten payments associations across the country representing 8,000 banks and credit unions, recently released findings from its third, national industry survey – Payments Priorities in 2021 and Beyond. The survey focused on critical payments issues financial institutions will be addressing in 2022. Based on feedback from hundreds of U.S. financial institutions, the results paint an interesting picture of the very near future of payments. This session will be led by the Center for Payments’ Market Intelligence team, who will walk through the survey results and give a guided look at the future of payments in the U.S..
Amy Smith brings more than 32 years of sales and marketing experience in the financial services industry to her leadership position at The Clearing House Payments Authority. She manages the organization’s 12-person team of payments experts and provides strategic focus with a goal of maximizing value to a membership of more than 3,000 financial institutions and corporate subscribers. She is an Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) and Certified Association Executive (CAE).
Smith served as President of The Payments Authority for 17 years and before that in electronic product management, treasury sales, consulting and marketing roles at Comerica Bank, Continental Bank, Bank of America and Arthur Andersen & Co.
Smith has served in a volunteer leadership capacity for a number of statewide and national organizations including the Payments Executive Leadership Forum, the Detroit Treasury Management Association, the Nacha Board of Directors and the Michigan Society of Association Executives (MSAE) and is a frequent speaker at various industry events and conferences.
She received a BA in marketing, corporate communications, and graphic design from Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, Mich.
